To enhance the well-being of America's veterans, their families, our military, and our communities by our devotion to mutual helpfulness. The American Legion's vision statement is "The American Legion: Veterans Strengthening America.” The American Legion's value principles are as follows:
America's Largest Veterans Service Organization Works Every Day To Uphold Time-Honored Values.
As a division of The American Legion National Headquarters, our mission is to give financial support to American Legion programs that enhance the quality of life for America's veterans, their families, and their communities.Your purchase supports the following programs:
The American Legion National Executive Committee passed a resolution formally commending Team Red White & Blue, Student Veterans of America, Team Rubicon and The Mission Continues as values driven post-9/11 veterans groups with whom American Legion posts are encouraged to contact and collaborate.
The mission of Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity.
Student Veterans of America (SVA) elevates the academic, professional, and personal development of veterans in higher education through chapter programs and services, outcomes and impacts research, and advocacy at every level. With a mission focused on empowering student veterans, SVA is committed to providing an educational experience that goes beyond the classroom.
Through continued service, Team Rubicon seeks to provide our veterans with three things they lose after leaving the military: a purpose, gained through disaster relief; community, built by serving with others; and identity, from recognizing the impact one individual can make. Coupled with leadership development and other opportunities, Team Rubicon looks to help veterans transition from military to civilian life.
We may have taken off the uniform, but that doesn’t mean we stop serving. We empower veterans to continue their service, and empower communities with veteran talent, skills, and preparedness to generate visible impact. Join us in serving again—in your community.
